He voted against emergency shelter funding.
When Massachusetts families had nowhere else to go, the House voted 127–23 to fund emergency shelter. Vieira voted no. On a Cape where one missed paycheck can cost a family its lease, he voted to let the safety net fail.

He voted to weaken abortion protections, twice.
When the Legislature updated the shield law, Vieira voted to strip out explicit protection for abortion care. He voted for an amendment letting a parent block a young person's birth control. He lost both, then voted for the bill. In July 2026 he voted no on letting doctors and patients make medical decisions without permission from politicians.
Immigrant neighbors · 2022 and 2026

He voted against driver's licenses.
The Work and Family Mobility Act let immigrant neighbors drive to work legally and carry insurance. The Governor vetoed it. The House overrode him 119–36. Vieira voted no.
He has kept at it. During debate on the PROTECT Act this year, Vieira filed an amendment to protect ICE's access to residents' tax records. The House rejected it. If Rep. Vieira had his way, our friends and neighbors would be in the dark while ICE went after their loved ones.
Offshore wind · [DATE TK]

He voted to kill offshore wind targets.
Vieira voted to strike the state's new offshore wind and solar targets. He voted for new hurdles on renewable projects. He voted against saving $1 billion in Mass Save funding that lowers energy bills. Twenty-five members voted with him on the wind and solar strike. One hundred thirty did not. That is voting against union jobs in the region and against cheaper energy prices.
